The Russian Doll

Updated: Jul 25, 2020

Who hasn't seen or owned a Russian Doll? I created this bowl inspired by it. The doll was originally carved in 1890 by artists, Zvyozdochkin & Maluytin, inspired by the ancient Japanese dolls, which are still available to see in Russia today.

The name came from the traditional Russian name “Matriosha” which means “mother”. Hence why these dolls are often seen as a symbol of motherhood.

Smoothie ingredients:

2-3 ripe bananas

half of ripe avocado

2-3 tsp of green spirulina

splash of plant-based milk

Toppings:

Desiccated coconut eyes, cocoa nibs and goji berry hair, Phyllis cheeks, strawberry lips
